Prospect Point Observation Platform

In 1835, a simple observation platform structure was built on Prospect Point. The viewing stage was 3 metres wide and 3.7 metres long and was extended over the edge of the Niagara Gorge by 6 metres. Long heavy tree trunks, which extended from the base of the platform to the rock wall of the gorge were support for this projection.

This observation platform stood until 1845, when it was removed for safety reasons although, during its existence there were no accidents recorded.
